Employee Rights on Transfer of Business

In general Employees have the right not to be dismissed or suffer detriment when their Employer changes by way of a TUPE transfer. If either of these things have happened you may be able to pursue a claim and we would be pleased to help.

Please note that the rules surrounding a TUPE Transfer do not generally apply to a business which is transferred by way of a share transfer but nevertheless a claim for Unfair Dismissal or Constructive Dismissal could well still arise in these circumstances.

Environmental permits are now required for all properties with a private drainage system

The Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010 came into force on 6th April 2010. The objective is to regulate the discharge of treated sewage and effluent by the issuing of permits. Most properties are connected to the main sewers, however for some properties this is not possible and there needs to be an alternative method for waste disposal.
