Financial Settlement

Known formally as “ancillary relief”, this is often the area where there are most disputes. Our experienced family lawyers can help you negotiate an agreement regarding the family home, your savings or investments, debt, pension sharing and the family business. They can advise as to whether a Clean Break is right for you or whether the divorce settlement should provide for ongoing maintenance.

If it becomes necessary to start Court proceedings we will guide you through the process of beginning the case, dealing with preliminary hearings and any final hearing, with our aim being always to reach a settlement as soon as we can.

We can also help and advise about concerns over child maintenance (whether this is dealt with by a private arrangement or thorough the Child Support Agency). This area may well include consideration of School Fees or other financial provision for your children.
