Construction Disputes
There are many types of construction contract which may go wrong.
The works to be performed under construction contracts range from minor repairs, to a simple structure by a jobbing builder, to the construction of engineering works of great complexity requiring much technical skill. We are able to advise on all areas of dispute, however big or small, straightforward or complicated.
Initially if you wish we can try to resolve the problem without making a formal court application. We deal with various methods of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, arbitration and specialist construction adjudication.
If none of these routes prove successful then we can of course advise and guide you through the process of applying to the court (known as “issue” of legal proceedings) and dealing with the case throughout to a successful conclusion.
We can act for either the person on whose behalf the work is to be done (usually the employer or building owner) or the person doing the work (the builder or contractor)
In addition to these are other related construction contracts which may be disputed such as those of sub-contractors, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project managers. Our team here at Coodes can help with any of these issues at any stage of the dispute process.
