Testimonials
Mrs Owen sustained whiplash type injuries to her neck and back when she was involved in a car accident which was not her fault. She also suffered from post traumatic stress disorder following the accident, which greatly impacted her ability to return to normal activities of independent living. In addition to securing expert and successful treatment for Mrs Owen, Coodes also secured an out of court settlement for her in the sum of £58,000.
Matthew Jameson was only 15 years old when as a result of his employer’s negligence, he sustained a nasty laceration to his right hand, which severed several tendons and left him with only partial use and sensation in two of his fingers. Matthew is right hand dominant and a keen musician. As a result of his injury, not only was he left with a permanent disability but he was also severely handicapped on the labour market. Any job demanding manual dexterity was no longer an option for him. He could no longer play the guitar to the level of expertise that he had been able to do before the accident and he was left feeling despondent and dejected. Coodes, however, persuaded the third party insurers to fund a comprehensive rehabilitation programme for Mr. Jameson, through which he underwent extensive physiotherapy and counselling. Matthew Jameson has now returned to college and is studying for A-levels. Coodes acted for Matthew and secured a settlement on his behalf of in excess of £100,000, which has been invested by the Court until Matthew reaches 18.
When Mrs McDonald tripped over a ‘post thumper’ which had been negligently left in a shopping aisle by the proprietor of the shop, she sustained a fracture to two of her toes. Within just 6 months, Coodes had recovered £3,800 on her behalf to compensate her for the injury, pain and suffering she had suffered through no fault of her own.
Environmental permits are now required for all properties with a private drainage system
The Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010 came into force on 6th April 2010. The objective is to regulate the discharge of treated sewage and effluent by the issuing of permits. Most properties are connected to the main sewers, however for some properties this is not possible and there needs to be an alternative method for waste disposal.
