Coodes conveyancing team nurtures new talent

Coodes Solicitors has appointed a new Conveyancing Executive to its growing Residential Property team. Based in the firm’s new St Austell Office, Kirsty Baigent has been promoted within the firm, having joined as a PA in 2014.

Coodes is supporting Kirsty through her law exams, as she balances studying for her qualifications, through the legal professional association CILEx, with working full-time in the fast-paced conveyancing team. With two years to go until she qualifies, Kirsty is building up her knowledge across the diverse field of residential property, from drawing-up tenancy agreements to helping clients navigate affordable housing schemes.

Kirsty grew up in nearby Roche and now lives in the harbour town of Mevagissey. After finishing college she worked as a trainee legal executive with Cornish firm A P Bassett Solicitors, which gave her a good grounding across a whole range of legal work. Working in the growing Residential Property team in the new office at St Austell Business Park is enabling Kirsty to develop as a specialist conveyancer.

Kirsty said: “Having local contacts and connections and knowing the area is a real advantage when I’m helping clients to buy or sell their homes. Having worked in a support role for the Residential Property team for the last two years, I am really excited to be advancing my career with Coodes. My colleagues have been enormously helpful and supportive and I feel I am already gaining a real breadth of experience and learning so much from their expertise.”

Coodes Partner and Head of Residential Property Alistair Whyte said: “As soon as Kirsty joined Coodes we recognised her potential and are delighted to be supporting her as she progresses in her career. Kirsty’s commitment to excellent service, her enthusiasm and determination make her a key member of our growing team.

“We are proud to be nurturing home grown talent and wish Kirsty all the very best in her new role.”
