Ed Coode joins Coodes’ Private Client team

Thu 4th Feb 2010

Cornish Olympic rower Ed Coode MBE has returned to his roots by taking up a position at Coodes, his family’s law firm. Bodmin-born Ed, aged 34, became a Cornish hero after winning gold in the coxless-fours at the 2004 Athens Olympics plus gold in the 1999 World Championships.

For the past four years he has been following in the Coode family footsteps by training in law at University of the West of England and with Bristol firm Burges Salmon.

He joins Coodes’ Private Client team in the Liskeard office.

He said: “I have a lot to learn over the next few years. I didn’t get into law just to tick along, I want to be good at it.

“I want to be part of a law firm that Cornwall is proud of and equally, a company that’s committed to supporting the local community.”

Ed will practice private client law, offering advice in Wills, probate and trusts.

Members of the Coode family have been involved with the firm since it was established in 1747. Ed’s father Jonathan Coode has retired but has been active with the company since then as a non-practising consultant.

Contact Ed Coode and the Private Client team at Coodes on 01579 347600.
