Our Residential Property team has won a national award for the quality of its work. The team, led by partner Alistair Whyte, was awarded the Excellence in Conveyancing Award at the Law Society’s Excellence Awards 2012 in London in October.
It was the first year for this award category, and Coodes was up against legal firms from all over the UK. More than 600 legal professionals attended the event, which recognised best practice, excellence and outstanding achievement across England and Wales.
The awards also highlight innovative business practices, successful approaches to business management as well as contributions through social responsibility and equality and diversity initiatives.
Coodes was one of the first firms in the South West to achieve the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Standard, and it was Coodes’ work in championing this new standard which led to the award win.
Alistair Whyte, head of Residential Property, said: “This is an incredible achievement for Coodes. We were up against conveyancing teams at law firms across the country, so we are very proud that our work in the South West has been recognised on a national scale.
“It proves that local conveyancing teams continue to offer the best service for clients in terms of efficiency, understanding their region and personal service.”
Law Society President Lucy Scott-Moncrieff said: “Winning a Law Society Excellence Award is a huge achievement that brings valuable recognition for individuals and firms.
“These awards reflect the Law Society’s commitment to the promotion of quality, innovation and client service across the legal profession.”
