Nick LatimirAn award-winning South West law firm has added to its personal law team with the appointment of an ‘exceptional talent’.

Nick Latimir has taken up a position in the private client department at Coodes Solicitors’ Truro office after moving from Foot Anstey.

As a member of the Law Society, Nick has kept a close eye on Coodes’ recent Excellence in Conveyancing Award win and has also been impressed by the high regard his fellow professionals have for the firm.

He said: “I was looking to move to a firm that prioritised private client work and had a strong presence in the county. I was very impressed with the Coodes personal law team and its reputation, which was mentioned in Chambers and Legal 500.” Nick is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and has broad experience in estate administration, tax planning, will drafting and mental capacity issues.

“I enjoy working with clients at all stages of their lives, helping them to deal with issues that may be troubling them and planning for the future,” he said.

Private client partner, Richard Pollock, said Coodes is able to attract high quality staff thanks to the firm’s excellent reputation.

Richard said: “We are excited that Nick has joined our flourishing and well-reputed team. In common with our current team members, Nick offers excellent technical skills, is able to develop enduring relations with clients and has a proven commitment to the Cornish business and wider community.” Nick’s appointment follows the recent arrival of Helen Willett, who has relocated from London to Cornwall from international law firm, SJ Berwin.

Helen previously worked on a £1.8bn real estate deal and has joined the award-winning commercial property team.

In his spare time Nick plays six-a-side football and is a keen cyclist, taking his son to school on his bike before cycling to work. Nick lives in Truro and is also a trustee of Cornwall Heritage Trust.
