Coodes Solicitors is growing its Residential Property team across Cornwall – from Launceston to St Ives. The South West law firm has recruited Solicitor Kate Manning to its Launceston office and Conveyancing Executive Jody Nicholas to the Truro team. Senior PA in the Residential Property team, Jan Egan has joined the firm’s St Ives office, which was established in 2015.
Kate Manning trained and qualified with Coodes Solicitors where she specialised in residential and commercial property. She then moved on to Sampson Solicitors in Bude before establishing a new Exeter office for conveyancing specialists New Homes Law. Kate has returned to Coodes to work in Launceston, where she lives with her young family.
Kate said: “I am excited to be back at Coodes and working with the team again. It is also great to be working in my home town, establishing contacts with people in the local community. Launceston is a great place to live and work and I am looking forward to helping people in and around the town move into a new home.”
Jody Nicholas joins from law firm Stephens Scown, where she worked for nine years, first as a Conveyancing Executive and then an ICT trainer. Jody was born in Penzance and grew up in South Africa before returning to Cornwall in 1997, when she started her legal training at Cornwall College. A keen clay pigeon shooter, she is aiming to join the England team for the sport.
Jody said: “I have known the Coodes Residential Property team for a long time, so I am delighted to be joining them. There is a real family feel to the firm and I have been made very welcome. I am definitely a people person so thrive on helping clients during what can be a stressful time.”
Jan Egan has joined Coodes’ St Ives office from local firm CVC Solicitors. She will support the firm’s Residential Property team who help clients to buy and sell homes in and around St Ives.
Partner and Head of Residential Property Alistair Whyte said: “These are three great appointments that will strengthen our Residential Property team across Cornwall.
“We are delighted to welcome back Kate Manning, who will help us to grow our business in Launceston and across East Cornwall and West Devon. Jody Nicholas is a great asset to our growing Truro team. An experienced conveyancer with a great attitude to customer service, her ICT expertise will also help us to upgrade our systems and be even more efficient. With her local knowledge and law firm background, Jan Egan is an excellent recruit for our St Ives office, as we continue to expand in the West of the county.”
