Thanks to the support of the people of Cornwall and beyond, in November 2016 we opened The Cove Macmillan Support Centre in Truro, Cornwall’s only dedicated cancer information and support centre.
The Cove is a purpose-built Macmillan Cancer Centre. We’ve got comfy spaces where you can take time out, a friendly cafe, and private rooms for if you prefer somewhere quiet. We also host regular support groups and events throughout the year.
Amongst the services available from The Cove Macmillan Support Centre are general information, support and advice on many types of cancer as well as financial and benefits advice, hair loss support with the relocation of the wigs and hats and scarves services, nutritional advice, health and wellbeing events and courses, and look good, feel better sessions.
Counselling and psychological support also feature at The Cove Macmillan Support Centre and the team help patients and families to deal with a cancer diagnosis and the emotional effects of living with cancer, through individual, couples or group therapy sessions.
The Cove Macmillan Support Centre is located at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Site in Truro and is open Monday – Friday 9:30 – 16:30, with occasional evenings (ask at reception for more details.
