Fri 10th Jul 2020

Coodes Solicitors has been recommended for its legal expertise and high quality client service in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide for the fourth consecutive year.

The South West law firm has achieved the highest possible position in the global guide, being named a ‘Band 1’ firm for Private Wealth Law. In its individual rankings, the guide highlights Partner Richard Pollock as a Band 1 ‘notable practitioner’.

Based on independent research and client feedback, Chambers High Net Worth lists the world’s best lawyers and law firms for private wealth. It also recommends leading accountancy firms, private banks, wealth managers, trust companies and other professional advisers.

The guide describes Coodes as being “adept at advising clients on a broad range of private wealth issues, including wills and probate, trust and tax administration and Court of Protection work.” It also highlights the firm’s expertise in advising clients with landed estates, businesses and farms.

Richard Pollock is described as being “highly regarded for his expertise in private client matters,” and “skilled at trust and estate planning, tax advice and drafting wills.” The guide quotes another professional describing him as providing a “very professional yet friendly service.”

Coodes’ Wills, Probate and Trusts team is based across the firm’s network of offices in Cornwall and Devon, providing expert advice to a diverse range of clients

Based in the firm’s Launceston office, Richard Pollock advises clients on estate and succession planning, trusts and related taxation. In addition to acting for a number of the firm’s high net worth clients, including many landowners, he leads the firm’s Court of Protection team and acts as a Deputy for many of the firm’s clients.

He is a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association and a Member of the Court of Protection panel of Deputies.

Richard Pollock said: “I am delighted that our expertise and high quality service has, once again, been recognised by this prestigious legal directory.

“We are committed to providing clients from all walks of life with the very best legal advice. In recent months, this has included supporting those dealing with a number of additional concerns, as a result of the pandemic. Throughout the crisis, we have focused on maintaining our usual high standard of service and offering our depth and breadth of legal expertise while working remotely.”

Peter Lamble, Chairman of Coodes Solicitors, said: “Congratulations to Richard, whose specialist expertise has been highlighted, and the whole team for being featured in this global legal guide. This recognition demonstrates the high standard of service and specialist knowledge Coodes can offer to high net worth clients, including many of the region’s landowners.

“This comes at an important time, with many people taking the opportunity to reflect and ensure their affairs are in good order. Although we have primarily been advising clients remotely, Coodes has stayed open throughout the pandemic to support new and existing clients to deal with whatever challenges they face.”
