A new specialist personal injury lawyer has been recruited by the South West’s longest established law firm, Coodes Solicitors, as it sees a continued increase in case load.
With more than 10 years experience, David Usher (pictured) has been appointed by the firm as an Associate Solicitor, to further bolster the team’s expertise across the region. He is also recognised as a Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
David, who qualified as a solicitor in 2017, has been practising solely in personal injury since 2014. During this time David has gained significant experience from dealing with all types of personal injury claims from road traffic accidents to accidents in the workplace.
Cornwall born and bred, David completed his law degree at the University of Plymouth, before qualifying with his Legal Practice Course (LPC). He has previously worked for several other law firms across Cornwall and Devon, including with Womble Bond Dickinson in Plymouth.
David Usher, said: “Joining Coodes has been an incredibly proud moment for me. One of my key strengths is being able to take a very personal approach when dealing with clients, by offering specialist advice, supporting them and helping them through what is often a very difficult and distressing time.
“Having such a passion for client care as well as supporting clients to rebuild their lives is what Coodes does best – I’m really pleased to be joining such a highly respected and well-established law firm in the South West.”
David is the latest appointment to the nine-strong Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Team at Coodes. Earlier this year, the firm welcomed Demelza Pallant as an Associate Solicitor, as well as two new Paralegals, Heather Kearton-Gee and Gareth Monk to support Coodes’ growing number of clients across the South West.
Rachel Pearce, Head of Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury at Coodes Solicitors, said: “We’re delighted to welcome David to the team and in a short space of time he has really hit the ground running. David is excellent at building strong relationships with clients at an early stage to ensure the best possible outcome. He’s empathetic and understanding and what impressed us most is that he understands and prides himelf on supporting our clients through the sometimes complex and unfamiliar process of bringing a personal injury claim. He has already made great strides in the networking circles and I’m confident that David’s experience and expertise will be a great asset to the firm.”
David draws on his experience to support clients who have never experienced the legal process involved in starting a claim for personal injury and is always on hand to answer any concerns or questions that the client may have.
He is a strong advovate of trying to settle claims without the need for the client to attend court, and will often explore various settlement tactics to achieve a positive end goal in this regard.
David, who lives in Redruth and has two young children, is a self-confessed rugby fan and is the Team Manager for the first team at Redruth RFC. In his spare time David can be found at the gym where he is currently training for local strongman competitions.
With eight offices located throughout Cornwall and Devon, Coodes Solicitors has built a well-deserved reputation for providing individuals and businesses with exceptional legal services and is recognised as a leading law firm in both the Legal 500 and UK Chambers & Partners guides. Its highly skilled and specialist lawyers provide expertise in wide-ranging and niche areas of legal practice.
