Coodes were delighted to attend the award ceremony for the eighth annual South West Farmer Awards this month.
These awards recognise and celebrate local farmers, suppliers, breeders, and others working within the industry. The agricultural sector plays a huge part in the South West region and the Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the achievements of those hard-working individuals.
The award show was a wonderful evening with over 150 people in attendance made up of sponsors, those shortlisted and their families. Hosted at the Somerset County Cricket Club, the Coodes team enjoyed getting to know faces old and new alongside some excellent food.
Coodes were proud to sponsor the Young Farmer Category this year in which there were three very strong candidates. We also supported the awards by keeping attendees’ tables stocked with wine!
Partner Pam Johns from the Rural Services team attended the awards accompanied by other Coodes colleagues, Lisa Robinson, Jack Peart, and Aimee Edwards. There were a very strong number of nominees this year and Pam had a number of clients nominated for various award categories. She had the honour of presenting the Young Farmer of the Year award. Pam said: “The person I nominated won Sheep Farmer of the Year, and other fantastic individuals local to the Coodes team won Beef Farmer of the Year and the Sustainable Champion. They too enjoyed the evening and were thrilled to be the winners in those two categories.”
“Another local winner to the Coodes team and myself was the Weyborn family (The Sheep Show) who won the Outstanding Achievement Award. They attend shows all over the country educating the public about sheep shearing, welfare and more.”
Coodes were honoured to be able to help celebrate these individuals and are looking forward to next year. Here is to the South West Farmer Awards 2024!
