Coodes team celebrating winning four awards at the Cornwall Law Society Awards 2024

Coodes Solicitors has continued to impress during awards season, celebrating winning four awards at this year’s Cornwall Law Society Awards. This follows the recent triumphs at the Devon and Somerset Law Society awards earlier this year.

The Cornwall Law Society is the county’s independent local Law Society. These awards are hosted annually to recognise the hard work of local firms who assist their community with legal matters. Kirsty Davey, Head of Corporate and Commercial at Coodes currently serves as the Society’s President. She hosted the awards dinner in the stunning venue that is Truro Cathedral last week (July 2024).

Coodes was shortlisted for six awards for various firm-led, team-led and individual nominations. The categories recognised the hard work of Coodes colleagues and dedication to clients.

The spectacular event saw Coodes celebrating a haul of awards across the different categories. Overall, Coodes won Large Firm of the Year, with Team of the Year going to Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. Individual recognitions went to Sarah Evans, who won Leader of the Year, and Julie Hatton, who won Litigation Lawyer of the Year.

Sarah Evans, Head of the Family Department, said: “I’m thrilled to be recognised as Leader of the Year for my work leading Coodes’ Family Department. Over the past year, I’ve worked hard with my team and colleagues across the firm to develop a strong culture and deliver results for the clients we champion. It’s a huge honour to receive this award, but I couldn’t have done this without my amazing team. To them I say thank you for their hard work.”

Julie Hatton, Partner of the Clinical Negligence team, said: “I was incredibly honoured to win the Litigation Lawyer of the Year award. My work fills me with immense pride and gratitude, and I’m equally as proud to be part of the award-winning Team of the Year. These awards are a reminder that hard work, dedication and passion truly pay off and it would not be possible without the entire teams’ hard work and commitment.”

Rachel Pearce, Head of the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of each and every person in my team for winning this award. It is testament to all their hard work, dedication and exceptional skill in everything they do for our clients, the team and the firm. I’m also delighted that Julie was awarded Litigation Lawyer of the Year which was more than deserved for the incredible work that she does.

“I would also like to share my congratulations to all those shortlisted for other awards, which is a fantastic achievement in itself. Winning awards is not just a recognition of our hard work and dedication across the firm but a time to celebrate what we have achieved and will continue to achieve.”
