Coodes has been shortlisted for six awards in the Cornwall Law Society Awards 2024. This continues the firm’s success following the recent highly commended awards at the Devon and Somerset Law Society, recognising colleagues commitment to excellence and championing clients, earlier this month.

The firm has been shortlisted for the Large Firm of the Year award whilst the Family Law Team and Clinical Negligence/Personal Injury Team have been shortlisted for Team of the Year. The Family Law Team and Medical Negligence Team have both been shortlisted for the Access to Justice Award.

Kayleigh Whitman and Julie Hatton have been shortlisted for Litigation Lawyer of the year, Sarah Evans and Victoria Walters are shortlisted for Family Lawyer of the Year, and Sarah Cowley and Sarah Evans have been shortlisted for Leader of the Year.

Cornwall Law Society is the county’s independent local Law Society and voice for all legal professionals. It supports in excess of 200 members in Cornwall by providing guidance, training, marketing, recruitment and social events. Kirsty Davey, Head of Corporate and Commercial at Coodes is currently serving as the Society’s President.

In its entries, Coodes highlighted the significant steps colleagues take to support the local communities in which they work, including the pro bono work undertaken, and make a positive impact on the lives of others. The positive culture of the firm and strong tradition of training and supporting aspiring lawyers was also noted alongside the delivery of exceptional client service.

Coodes Solicitors Chairman Peter Lamble said: At Coodes we’ve been working hard to fight for, champion and deliver for our clients. With the firm, four of our teams and five of our individual solicitors being shortlisted for awards this is continuing to be an exciting year for us.

“As one of the South West’s longest established and leading law firms in Cornwall and Devon, and with many of our team living in Cornwall, this recognition is particularly welcome. We’re looking forward to taking the opportunity to celebrate all the teams hard work over the past year at the annual dinner.”

The final winners will be crowned at the prestigious annual dinner taking place at Truro Cathedral on 12 July 2024 where guests can celebrate success as well as enjoy live music and first-class food.
