As a South West firm, the agricultural sector plays a big part in our services, our community and our team’s lives. We understand the context and challenges of Devon and Cornwall’s landscape and have assisted the local people with their legal matters for almost 300 years. That’s why we feel it’s important to attend local agricultural shows across both counties, providing hospitality for existing and new customers. This year we attended and supported many agricultural shows and we know that supporting them is really important for those local communities, because they tell us so.
We look forward to continuing to support the agricultural sector and connecting with the local community through our work.
For us, the show season started in June with a big one—the Royal Cornwall Show! Held over three days, from the 6th to the 8th, we were thrilled to be the official e-ticket sponsor this year. As well as having a stand, we ran prize draws, which attracted plenty of interest but mainly spent our time with our clients and professional colleagues celebrating what is best about our county and the vast array of produce we make here and sell nationally and internationally. The weather held out for us and as usual the bustling atmosphere and amazing events displays made for a great few days.
July was our busiest month and saw us packed out with events. We began at the Liskeard Show on Saturday 13th July. The day was a great opportunity to connect with local businesses and the community.
Next up was the Stithians Show on Monday 15th of July. We saw a fair bit of rain, but that didn’t dampen our spirits! We kept visitors entertained with a “Guess How Many Sweets in the Jar” competition, and our dog show proved to be a highlight too. We were especially proud to welcome Redruth RFC, our sponsored team, who stopped by our stand to say hello.
The Launceston Show followed on Thursday 25th of July, and then we wrapped up the month at the Woolsery Show on Monday 29th. Both shows gave us the chance to engage with the farming community and support the vital work being done in the South West.
August saw us at the last two shows of a busy summer season. The Okehampton Show on the 8th August saw us with a stand at Dartmoor’s largest agricultural show. Again, we had a great time meeting plenty of local businesses and visitors alike, who came together to celebrate the region’s rural heritage.
Our summer show circuit concluded at the Holsworthy & Stratton Show on Thursday 22nd of August. We had a brilliant time, and we are already looking forward to next year’s show offerings.
We will also be attending or sponsoring other events throughout the remainder of the year, so keep an eye on our social media channels for more information.
At Coodes, we understand the unique challenges faced within the agricultural industry and of living in rural areas, so our team are always here to help. If you’re currently looking for advice or support, reach out to our Rural team or use our online contact form to get in touch.
