Coodes Solicitors are proud to announce that we have been recognised as one of the Best Places to Work by leading regional business magazine Business Cornwall.

2025 marked the third annual running of the Business Cornwall awards scheme in partnership with Best Companies Group. Companies were ranked following a two-stage process and surveys covering the leadership of the business, policies, benefits and more. Employees were also asked 77 questions and asked to rank their satisfaction levels with their workplaces.

Coodes was singled out for its activities aimed at relieving workday stress and promoting fun among the team. Our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of others, including our brilliant team. We often take part in dress down days, themed bake sales and host fun team events at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year.

Partner and Chair, Elise Alma, said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have been ranked among the best places to work in Cornwall. We truly believe our people are our most valuable asset. It’s incredibly important to us to ensure that our workplace is not just a place to work, but a place where everyone feels valued and has opportunities to grow professionally and personally.”

In the employee surveys, our team were asked what they loved about working at Coodes. The top three were having free fruit available in every office, the Christmas office closure with paid time off on top of annual leave entitlement and the options to trade annual leave.

Becky Hosken, Chief People Officer at Coodes, said: “This recognition means a great deal to us because it is based on feedback from our staff. Being a great place to work means something different to everyone, so we go to great lengths to ensure we consider the big and the small stuff when it comes to our culture and ethos.”

“We are always looking at how we can be an even better place to work so that we keep our amazing staff and we believe this means they can offer our clients the very best service.”

Eight other Cornish companies also received the title across a wide range of sectors having demonstrated a high level of satisfaction.

The full breakdown of Business Cornwall’s Best Place to Work 2025 can be found in the May issue of the publication. The full story on Coodes and the other winning firms, can be read online here.
