Three professionals from Coodes Solicitors are simultaneously holding senior positions across regional Law Societies and Junior Lawyers Divisions, an achievement believed to be unprecedented for a single firm in the South West.
Pam Johns, Head of Rural Services, is President of the Devon and Somerset Law Society (DASLS), while Rachel Pearce, Head of Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury, serves as President of the Cornwall Law Society. Bradley Kaine, a family law specialist, holds the position of Chairman of the Cornwall Junior Lawyers Division.
The appointments not only reflect Coodes’ deep roots across Devon, Somerset and Cornwall, and the firm’s commitment to contributing to the legal profession beyond client work, but the esteem in which these individuals are held by their peers.
Elise Alma, Chair of Coodes Solicitors, said: “To have three members of our firm holding these positions simultaneously is genuinely remarkable and something we’re immensely proud of. It demonstrates not only the calibre of talent within Coodes, but also our commitment to the legal communities we serve.
“These roles require significant time and dedication, and the firm actively supports our people in taking them on. Pam, Rachel and Bradley are helping to shape the future of the legal profession across the region.
“They are supporting fellow practitioners, championing important issues such as mental wellbeing and sustainability, while ensuring the next generation of lawyers has the guidance and opportunities they need to thrive.
“This achievement speaks to our values as a firm. We’re not just rooted in the South West, we’re invested in it and in ensuring the legal profession here remains strong, collaborative and forward-thinking.”
Pam Johns brings over 36 years of experience to her DASLS presidency, having established Coodes’ Holsworthy office and built a reputation as one of the region’s leading rural property specialists.
Rachel Pearce, who recently won Clinical Negligence Lawyer of the Year at the 2025 Personal Injury Awards, is focusing her presidency of the Cornwall Law Society on mental health, wellbeing, and sustainability within the profession.
In a developing career marked by growing expertise in family law, Bradley Kaine plays an active role in supporting clients and strengthening relationships with key referrers such as CLEAR and First Light, while championing support and development opportunities for junior lawyers across the region.
All three positions involve substantial commitment to training, networking, professional standards and advocacy for the legal community across the South West.
