Commercial Property Paralegal Chelsea Stimpson has been shortlisted for the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious 30 Under 30 awards.
The annual initiative recognises young professionals across Cornwall who are making a significant impact in their industries and communities. Chelsea’s nomination reflects not only her early career achievements within the legal sector, but also her resilience and commitment to building a meaningful future in the county.
Chelsea joined Coodes earlier this year, bringing with her experience gained at another Cornish firm. Despite being at an early stage in her legal career, she has already established herself as a valued member of the Commercial Property team; supporting colleagues across a broad range of transactions, and demonstrating a proactive approach and a strong sense of responsibility in her work.
Her journey into law has not been straightforward. While studying at the University of Plymouth, Chelsea faced significant personal challenges, including a traumatic experience that led to court proceedings during her final examinations. Despite the impact this had on her studies, she persevered, completing her degree in 2024. Since graduating, she has continued to invest in her future, self-funding her preparation for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.
Alongside her professional development, Chelsea has shown a longstanding commitment to her local community. She has spent time performing as a singer in care homes across Cornwall, bringing connection and enjoyment to elderly residents, and has also worked in care roles and with Age UK. These experiences have shaped her dedication to supporting others and contributing positively to the community she now calls home.
Reflecting on her shortlisting, Chelsea described the recognition as both rewarding and emotional, particularly in light of the challenges she has overcome. She sees it as an acknowledgement not only of her progress within the legal profession, but also of her determination to succeed.
Jo Morgan, Commercial Property Partner at Coodes commented: “Chelsea’s shortlisting is a well-earned recognition of the progress she has made at a relatively early stage in her legal career.
“At Coodes, we place a strong emphasis on developing talent and creating an environment where people are given the support and opportunity to build their careers with confidence. Chelsea is a very good example of that in practice. She has approached her role with maturity, focus and a clear commitment to developing her skills, and that has been reflected in the contribution she is already making to the team.
“Her journey also highlights the importance of supporting individuals not just professionally, but personally. With the right environment and encouragement, people are able to realise their potential and establish long-term careers within the profession, which is something we are committed to as a firm.”
Chelsea’s shortlisting marks a significant early achievement in her legal career, recognising both her professional progress and her contribution to the Cornwall community. She is now among an elite group of young professionals being recognised for their impact across the region, with shortlisted nominees set to be celebrated at an awards ceremony on 8th May 2026, where the ultimate winners will be announced.
