Coodes announces raft of promotions following an outstanding year

Wed 3rd Jun 2026

South West law firm Coodes Solicitors has announced the firm’s latest round of promotions in recognition of the exceptional talent and continued commitment across a broad range of practice areas.

Marking a landmark period of growth for the firm, Hayley Gaffney (Dispute Resolution), Laura Noble (Residential Property), Ben Sidgwick (Dispute Resolution), Kerry Tresidder (Residential Property) and David Usher (Personal Injury) have all achieved Partner status, reflecting the ambition within the business.

Understanding that experienced legal professionals can contribute significant value to its clients, the firm has also named its first cohort of Senior Associates: Michelle Hawkins (Residential Property), Jack Peart (Corporate & Commercial), Kathryn Shaw (Residential Property), Laura Vanstone (Residential Property) and Shelley Workman (Family).

Following the firm’s record year, those promoted to Associate in recognition of their contribution are: Aimee Edwards (Wills & Probate), John Holdsworth (Court of Protection), Karen Jones (Residential Property), Sharon Parsons (Clinical Negligence), Lianne Priest (Residential Property), Lucy Poole (Wills & Probate) and Heidi Start (Residential Property).

Elise Alma, Partner and Chair of Coodes, said: “These promotions reflect everything we stand for as a firm. We have an extraordinary group of people here, and when you see 5 individuals reach partner level in a single year with promotions for another 12, it tells you something about the culture we have built and the ambition we share.

“The firm’s overall performance this year has been exceptional, hitting £12.7m for the first time in more than 275 years, reflecting Coodes growing reputation locally, regionally and nationally. Everyone is working hard to achieve our strategic goals, which become more attainable thanks to the talent and dedication of our people.

“It is immensely satisfying to reward the outstanding contribution made to the success of the firm by all these individuals, who deliver so much to their respective teams, colleagues and clients. We are excited about the contribution they will all make and the example they set for those who would follow suit.

“The Senior Associate and Associate promotions are particularly gratifying, representing the quality of the legal professionals we have been recruiting and developing. I believe the promotions at all levels, across all departments, reflect a firm that is genuinely growing in the right way.”
