Coodes conquer National Three Peaks for Cornwall Air Ambulance 

Five members of our team – Becky Hosken, Lisa Robinson, Haley Hawker, Abi Lutey and Lucy Jewell – completed the National Three Peaks Challenge on 13-14th June 2026, raising over £7,260 for Cornwall Air Ambulance, with donations still coming in. 

Cornwall Air Ambulance is a life-saving charity serving Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Operating entirely without government funding, the charity relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to keep its helicopters flying and critical care paramedics responding to emergencies across the region. 

The Three Peaks Challenge involves summiting Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa (formerly known as Snowdon), the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. Typically climbed back-to-back within 24 hours, it is considered one of the most demanding endurance challenges in the UK, and our team found it to live up to its reputation. 

Despite rigorous preparation, including extensive cliff path training, nothing could fully replicate the real climb. The descents proved the hardest part, none more so than Scafell Pike, which was navigated in darkness with only headtorches to guide them. Ben Nevis brought rain, snow and high winds at the summit, whilst fog descended on Scafell Pike as evening set in. 

Yr Wyddfa provided a fitting finale. With clear skies and calm conditions, the team reached the top and was rewarded with a 360-degree panorama stretching from the mountain peaks to the sea. 

Abi Lutey, Chief Operating Officer at Coodes, reflected: “It was an extraordinary experience – gruelling in every sense, but one I will never forget.  

“What kept us going was the people around us, fellow climbers all pushing through their own challenges for causes close to their hearts. We lifted each other along the way through some of the toughest conditions. It was the only motivation we had at times. 

 “Reaching the top of Yr Wyddfa with the view in front of us, after being awake for 30 hours straight, made every sleepless mile worth it. That, and what it would mean to Cornwall Air Ambulance and the communities they serve. This was in the back of our minds the entire time.” 

A spokesperson for Cornwall Air Ambulance added: “We are overwhelmed by the dedication and determination shown by the Coodes team. Completing the National Three Peaks Challenge is no small feat, and to do it in aid of our charity means a great deal to not only us, but the entire region. 

“All money raised from their challenge helps keep our helicopters in the air and our crew ready to respond, so we can continue to be there for the residents of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. 

“Without donations like these, we simply could not do what we do. We are beyond grateful to the five climbers for the remarkable effort they have put in on our behalf.”
