Coodes named Law Firm of the Year at Cornwall Law Society Awards

Thu 23rd Jul 2026

Coodes Solicitors has been awarded Law Firm of the Year (20+ fee earners) at the Cornwall Law Society Awards 2026, a recognition that reflects a period of sustained growth, cultural transformation, and ongoing commitment to South West communities.

The award caps a landmark year for the firm, achieving consecutive double-digit turnover growth, surpassing £12 million for the first time in its 275-year history. Central to this growth has been a strategic shift in how Coodes approaches business development, embedding collaboration between legal teams and business services to identify opportunities earlier, improve client experience, and deliver results across all levels.

The firm’s impact extends further than legal services, raising over £26,000 for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust. Five members completed the National Three Peaks Challenge earlier this summer, bringing in over £7,000 in the process.

Coodes also ranked in the top five of the Business Cornwall Best Places to Work Awards 2025, the highest-placed professional services firm, holding Silver Investors in People accreditation and maintaining staff retention rates that exceed industry benchmarks, as well as a variety of award wins for a variety of our departments and lawyers.

Elise Alma, Chair of Coodes Solicitors, commented: “This award represents a great deal in many ways. Not only does it reflect our commercial success, but more deeply, the culture we have built and the values we hold as a firm.

“With strong roots in Cornwall and Devon, we are invested in the communities we serve, whether it’s through our legal work, our people, or the contributions we make beyond our offices. Being recognised by the Cornwall Law Society is a proud moment and is down to the efforts of everyone in the firm. It is a real affirmation of what we have achieved and our drive to keep building on it.

“Our ethos is Your Lawyers for Life, and that means building lasting relationships with our clients, whether we are supporting individuals through important life moments or helping businesses to grow, adapt and thrive. This award recognises that and gives us real momentum moving forward.”

The Cornwall Law Society Awards celebrate excellence across the legal profession in the region. Coodes also holds rankings in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, with recognition spanning Clinical Negligence, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Real Estate, Family and beyond.
