Our Lexcel accreditation: what does it mean for our clients?

Coodes is a proud recipient of the Lexcel accreditation. Compliance Coordinator Sally Davies explains how it helps provide first-class client care…

Lexcel is an internationally recognised legal practice quality mark and offers our clients a clear and distinctive assurance of quality. Coodes Solicitors is proud to have held the Lexcel award since 2012.

Lexcel is the Law Society’s Practice Management Standard, and we undergo a thorough independent assessment every year to achieve this accreditation. We have to meet required standards of excellence in client care, business management and risk management.

What does it mean for our clients?

We don’t just simply comply with the required standards, but we provide the highest levels of consistency across the firm, going above and beyond an expectation.

Having the Lexcel rubber stamp of approval helps to provide our clients with the peace of mind that they are being cared for by a team of experts that understand their issues and have their best interests at heart.

The Lexcel accreditation, which demonstrates the delivery of legal excellence, sets Coodes apart from other providers in the marketplace who may not be able to give that same level of expertise and assurance of quality.

Our clients should feel reassured

It’s very important that our clients receive the best service possible, and the Lexcel Standard helps us to deliver that.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) is the regulatory body for solicitors and law firms in England and Wales – it creates our Code of Conduct, and we make sure that we work within those principles.

Lexcel further strengthens and enhances this and helps us to comply with the myriad of regulations. Some examples of these include anti-money laundering, equality and diversity, data protection and GDPR. Lexcel helps to provide our clients with another level of protection, dealing with their matters more effectively and efficiently.

Should I notice a difference?

Yes, clients should notice a difference in quality from having the Lexcel standard – we understand that while every legal matter is different, the consistency in handling each case should remain the same.

We follow best practice, and clients can be assured that they receive a more comprehensive, personal, friendly, and professional service throughout their dealings with us.

Clients can expect to be told who is acting for them, who is supervising their matter, what information they will receive, whether their matter is viable or not, details of fees and charges and what the cost benefit is to them. They can be assured that every step of the way they receive regular updates and are kept informed by our team.

Guided by support from Lexcel

Many law firms are faced with different risks and Lexcel helps to reduce those risks. It is great to know that we have that quality mark from such a prestigious body and that we are constantly striving to achieve the very best for our clients – we are here to help.

John Edwards, Lexcel Client Relationship Manager, said: “Recognising Excellence, a Law Society approved Lexcel Certification Body, are delighted to be working with Coodes Solicitors LLP. We have conducted their Lexcel assessment and review for the last 10 years and over this period of time they have demonstrated through a rigorous and regular review of risk management policies and procedures a commitment to providing legal excellence in all that they do.”
