A corporate lawyer at Coodes Solicitors has been appointed to the Members Council of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce. Kirsty McAuley aims to encourage more business people from across the county to join the Chamber and to help the Chamber with its work for the businesses community.
As part of the Council, Kirsty will help ensure members’ voices are heard and will support the Chamber to recruit new businesses.
Formerly Cornwall Law Society Junior Lawyer of the Year, Kirsty grew up in Cornwall. She trained and qualified with Coodes Solicitors and is now based in the firm’s Falmouth office. Part of the firm’s Corporate and Commercial team she advises businesses on issues ranging from restructurings, contracts and commercial agreements to business sales and purchase.
Kirsty McAuley said: “I am really excited to have been made a Council Member for the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber gives Cornwall’s businesses a unified voice at a local and national level. As well as offering a number of real, practical benefits it gives businesses a forum to share ideas and solve problems.
“As a Council Member I will help the Chamber continue to grow by recruiting new members. Having a more active role with the Chamber will also give me insights that I know will be useful to my clients.”
Gary Perkin, Chair of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Members Council, said: “We wish a big welcome to Kirsty as a new Council member. We look forward to Kirsty’s input and participation along with the other 20 members to help drive the Chamber forward and be a voice for business in Cornwall.”
