Coodes rated for expertise and client service by prestigious legal directory

Coodes Solicitors has been rated for its legal expertise and high-quality service to clients in the 2020 edition of Chambers & Partners. The prestigious legal directory, which is an independent guide to the UK’s best lawyers and law firms, recommends the South West law firm for advising on agriculture and rural affairs and clinical negligence.

The guide highlights Partner and Rural Services team leader Pam Johns and Clinical Negligence specialist Tim Goldburn as leading individuals.

The guide recommends Coodes’ Rural Services team for providing expert legal advice on a “wide range of agricultural matters” to farmers and landowners across the South West, quoting the team’s strengths as being “quick and efficient” and taking “a really practical view of what is required.” The guide says it is “notable for advising South Western farmers and other landowners over several generations”.

Singling out Partner and Rural Services Team Leader Pam Johns, a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association based in the Holsworthy office, the guide states she is “well regarded for her experience in agricultural matters”. It quotes a source saying: “She’s very practical and understands farming inside out; she understands the complexities within agricultural property.” And a second adding: “She has excellent experience and is extremely knowledgeable.”

Based in Coodes’ network of offices across Cornwall and Devon, the Rural Services team provides advice on a wide range of issues, including succession planning, agricultural property and farm partnership agreements.

Clinical Negligence specialist Tim Goldburn is also highlighted in the guide for his expertise in representing clients who have suffered injury as a result of medical negligence. The guide says: “Industry commentators praise him for being ‘very good with clients’.”

With more than 30 years’ experience of guiding people through medical negligence claims, Tim joined Coodes in 2015 following a merger with local firm Preston Goldburn. He is now a consultant in the firm’s Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence teams.

One of the world’s most respected legal directories, Chambers & Partners is based on rigorous independent research and feedback from clients and other legal professionals. Coodes has also recently been recommended in The Legal 500, the UK’s other leading legal directory, for its expertise across six areas of the law.

Coodes Chairman Peter Lamble said: “Chambers & Partners only recommends firms and individuals that meet the very highest standards of legal knowledge and client service, so it is a great result for Coodes to be included.

“Pam and Tim have both established an excellent reputation within their respective fields and fully deserve this recognition. I am also delighted that our Rural Services team has, once again, been recommended for the specialist service it provides to farmers and landowners across the region.

“Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of being recognised in this way is that Chambers & Partners is based so heavily on client feedback. Customer service is our number one priority, so it is fantastic to see that reflected by our inclusion in this prestigious legal directory.”
