Prince Edward officially opened Ruthvoes Barns yesterday a project put together by farming charity, the Addington Fund.
The Addington Fund is a farming charity which provides homes for farming families living in England and Wales who have to leave the industry and also offers emergency grants in times of hardship.
The development near Indian Queens in Cornwall sees a once derelict farmyard turned into four work and live affordable units, designed to help those in need in agriculture, whether new to the sector or struggling and needing to leave their current accommodation.
Coodes is a long standing supporter of the Addington Fund, having recently acted as primary sponsor of the Cornwall Farm Business Awards. Coodes waved its professional fees for the legal work carried out for the Ruthvoes project as well.
Head of Rural Services at Coodes, Pam Johns said “We were more than happy to help Addington with Ruthvoes. Farmers are currently struggling during what has been and continues to be testing times for agriculture. Projects like Ruthvoes are vital for farmers in crisis.”
