Fri 23rd Jul 2021

Coodes Solicitors has, once again, been recommended for its legal expertise and high quality client service in global legal directory the Chambers High Net Worth Guide. The South West law firm is one of only two in Cornwall to be ranked for Private Wealth law.

The prestigious guide lists Coodes as a Band 1 firm, the highest possible ranking, and names Partner Richard Pollock as a Band 1 ‘notable practitioner’. This is the fifth consecutive year that the firm has been ranked in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide.

Based on rigorous independent research and interviews with clients, the Chambers High Net Worth ranks the world’s best law firms for private wealth. It also features the top private banks, wealth managers, trust companies, accountancy firms and other professional advisers for high net worth individuals.

The guide states: “Coodes advises clients in Cornwall, including farming families and wealthy individuals. The firm has in-depth experience in wills advice, trusts work and Court of Protection matters.”

Richard Pollock is one of just three Cornwall-based lawyers to be ranked in Band 1 for Private Wealth Law. The guide says he “has many years’ experience in the private wealth market, helping clients with estate planning and probate work.” It also quotes another professional saying Richard is “a good chap and has a good reputation” for private client work.

Coodes’ Wills, Probate and Trusts team is based across the firm’s network of offices in Cornwall and Devon. The team provides expert advice to a diverse range of clients on lifetime planning and estate administration.

Based in Coodes’ Launceston office, Richard Pollock provides advice on estate and succession planning, trusts and related taxation. He supports many of the firm’s high net worth clients, including landowners, and also leads the firm’s Court of Protection team and acts as a Deputy for clients.

Richard qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and joined Coodes in 2005. He is a Full Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association and a Member of the Court of Protection panel of Deputies.

Richard Pollock said: “It is fantastic to be recommended in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide for five consecutive years. We serve a diverse client base here in Cornwall, Devon and beyond, and it is very rewarding to get this recognition once again.

“It has, of course, been a challenging few months for many of our clients. Throughout the pandemic, we have remained committed to serving our local communities and ensuring people can continue to access the very best legal advice.

“Being ranked alongside the world’s best lawyers and law firms gives our clients that reassurance that, when they come to Coodes, they will receive the highest quality legal advice.”

Peter Lamble, Chairman of Coodes Solicitors, said: “I would like to congratulate the Wills, Trust and Probate team and Partner Richard Pollock for, once again, being recommended in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide. This is an extremely prestigious directory and our ranking reflects our high standards of client service and the specialist legal expertise we offer.

“We have had to adapt and find new ways of working during the pandemic but our priority has remained the same as always: to be there for our clients, supporting them through whatever life brings.”
