South West law firm Coodes Solicitors has been recommended in the latest edition of a leading guide to the UK’s best lawyers.
The 2020 edition of the Legal 500 UK ranks Coodes for its expert advice to businesses and individuals across six areas of the law: corporate and commercial, clinical negligence, personal injury, agriculture and estates, contentious trusts and probate and property litigation.
Three of the firm’s partners, Sonya Bassett, Colin Hunter and Peter Lamble, are singled out for their expertise. Sonya is recommended for her leadership of the firm’s Corporate and Commercial team. The guide describes the team as being “particularly experienced in working with regional SMEs” and having “notable expertise in the renewables, construction, tourism and rural businesses sectors.”
Personal Disputes specialist Colin Hunter and Chairman and Commercial Disputes specialist Peter Lamble are recommended for their expertise in advising on property litigation matters, relating to both commercial and private property.
The firm’s Personal Disputes team, which is led by Partner Melanie Grose, is also ranked for its specialist advice on contentious trusts and probate, with a client quoted as saying the team is “extremely professional, thoughtful and compassionate.”
Coodes’ Rural Services team, led by Pam Johns, is once again recommended for advising farmers and landowners on matters including the sale and purchase of farms, estate and succession planning and the drafting and negotiating of tenancy agreements.
The firm’s Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department is highlighted in two areas: for advising those making personal injury claims and for its expertise in clinical negligence cases. Headed by Partner Rachel Pearce, the team is described by a client as being “a very friendly down-to-earth firm that makes one feel comfortable at any level.”
With a network of offices across Cornwall and Devon, Coodes Solicitors prides itself on providing business clients and individuals with the highest quality legal expertise while offering a friendly local service.
Peter Lamble, Chairman of Coodes Solicitors, said: “Being ranked in the Legal 500 for six such diverse specialisms of the law is a fantastic result for the firm. Over recent years we have worked hard to build our expertise across a number of key areas, by making strategic appointments and by training and nurturing our own staff.
“Being recommended in the Legal 500 is extremely rewarding because the guide is mainly based on feedback from clients. Our high profile in the 2020 edition is testament to the technical expertise and commitment to customer service across the firm.”
