Courtney Sutton works in the family team dealing with private and public law, divorce, finances and domestic abuse.
Courtney assists in care proceedings where the child is potentially being removed from the parent.
She represents clients in the Public Law Outline (PLO) process where social services have raised concerns and want to discuss these issues and prevent them from issuing care proceedings.
She also acts in children proceedings between two parents who want to sort out child arrangements about who the child spends time with or lives with.
Courtney also helps victims of domestic abuse obtain Non-Molestation Orders.
Recently represented a client in a PLO meeting where the local authority decided to support the family to make changes instead of issuing public law proceedings.
Represented a parent in public law proceedings whereby social services withdrew their application as they could not support their evidence and the child was therefore not removed from the clients’ care.
Courtney regularly helps clients who wish to formally change their name.
