Elise Alma has specialised in Family Law for over 30 years and has extensive experience in the field.
Elise joined Coodes in 1987 and during that time, she developed the Family team from two lawyers to one of the largest and most skilled teams in the county.
She has been a member of Resolution for decades and approaches matters on a pragmatic basis wherever possible.
Her expertise is recognised by the fact that she is a member of the Law Society’s Children Law panel, a Resolution accredited specialist in financial disputes and domestic abuse, and a member of the Law Society family panel.
Elise is also a member of the firm’s Executive Board.
Elise now specialises in complex financial cases of marriage breakdown involving clients with extensive assets, including businesses, farming partnerships and pensions.
In addition, she deals with contested court proceedings involving local authorities and children, including cases involving non-accidental injuries.
Acting for a mother in a complex case involving multiple parties, including a five-day finding of fact. At the conclusion of the proceedings, all the children were returned to their mother’s care.
Resolving a case involving a substantial public sector pension and properties in the UK and abroad. The matrimonial assets were equally divided, but Elise was able to retain the majority of the non-matrimonial assets. This was important to the client as it was feared that inherited assets would have to be divided equally with the other spouse.
