Jodie is a highly experienced litigator specialising in contentious probate matters. She advises and represents clients in a broad range of inheritance and estate disputes, including challenges to the validity of wills, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, disputes involving executors and trustees and issues arising from the administration of estates and breaches of fiduciary duties.

With a wide range experience, Jodie is adept at managing cases from initial investigation through to conclusion to include pre-action negotiations, attending mediations (including multi-party mediations), court hearings and at Trial.  Jodie approaches each case in a robust and pragmatic manner, combining strong expertise with a keen focus on achieving timely and cost-effective resolutions.

Jodie is particularly skilled at navigating the sensitive and often emotional nature of inheritance disputes. She takes the time to understand her clients’ objectives and tailors her approach accordingly.

Jodie is committed to delivering an excellent standard of client service, providing clear, practical advice and maintaining open, supportive communication throughout what are often sensitive and complex disputes.

Jodie is also currently studying towards qualification as a solicitor, further strengthening her technical knowledge and commitment to professional development.

Jodie advises clients on all aspects of contentious probate matters which covers a wide range of disputes, including challenges to the validity of wills (testamentary capacity, lack of due execution, undue influence, lack of knowledge and approval), revocation, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and disputes involving executors, trustees, and breaches of fiduciary duty.

Notable Inheritance and Will Disputes cases


  • Inheritance Dispute

    Supported a prospective claimant in a dispute concerning the misappropriation of funds from her father’s estate. The matter was successfully resolved at the pre-action stage, securing recovery of sums and avoiding the requirement for court proceedings.

  • Inheritance Dispute

    Advised in a claim for reasonable financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, alongside a proprietary estoppel claim, on behalf of a residuary beneficiary. The client also advanced a counterclaim relating to a Declaration of Trust and occupational rent. The matter concluded successfully at mediation, with the client receiving a six-figure settlement.

  • Inheritance Dispute

    Represented prospective Defendants in a cross jurisdictional dispute concerning their mother’s estate where a proprietary estoppel claim had been intermated. The matter was successfully settled following mediation.

  • Inheritance Dispute

    Advised a Defendant concerning a claim to propound her late mother’s Will which included a counterclaim in relation to the construction and rectification of the Will. The claim was successfully settled prior to Trial taking place.

  • Proprietary Estoppel

    Assisted joint claimants concerning a proprietary estoppel claim concerning their late father’s estate. Pre-action correspondence resulted in a successful settlement for the clients without the need to issue proceedings.

  • Inheritance Dispute

    Advised a prospective claimant in relation to a complex claim concerning his father’s estate whereby assets which were thought to be held solely and subject to a life interest did not fall solely into his estate and partially for the benefit of his surviving wife. A swift settlement was reached which resulted in an agreement that the assets fell outside the estate for the benefit of our client.
