Poppy Pain

Poppy carries out a variety of legal research to assist the lawyers within the team. Poppy prepares legal documents such as instructions to counsel and multiple court applications for a number of different disputes.

Poppy is involved in preparing for trials including corresponding with the courts and compiling bundles of documents for hearings.

Poppy helps to achieve the team’s high customer satisfaction by corresponding with clients via the telephone or email.

Notable Disputes cases

• Will Invalidity Challenge
  

  Poppy assists Mel Grose (Partner) and Hayley Gaffney (Associate) with a number of Will invalidity claims on the basis of undue influence, lack of knowledge and approval, lack of testamentary capacity and lack of due execution.

• Cohabitee Dispute
  

  Poppy has assisted in claims issued under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 for a declaration as to the parties’ respective interests in the property.

• Landlord & Tenant Dispute
  

  Poppy assists in a number of landlord and tenant disputes including serving section 21 and section 8 Notices. Poppy assisted Emily Stark (Solicitor) with a dispute that reached possession proceedings. The client was successful in regaining possession of the property.

• Boundary Dispute
  

  Poppy assisted Darren Higginson (Partner) in an agricultural land and boundary dispute. This involved organising and attending a mediation.

• Contract Dispute
  

  Poppy has assisted Ben Sidgwick (Associate) in a breach of contract dispute involving a company breaching a contract in relation to work on a client’s property.
