Since 2005 Sarah has specialised in disputes involving children and assists parents with issues concerning where their children live and the arrangements for their care following relationship breakdowns.
She also deals with cases where there have been allegations of domestic or sexual abuse, relocation of children within and outside of the jurisdiction and preventing such removal, issues concerning where a child should be educated, disputes concerning grandparents and issues concerning fertility and surrogacy.

Obtaining an order enabling a mother and the children to remain in England and Wales following a relocation from another country.
Representing the mother in an application made for the Father to be able to see his child. There were issues of domestic abuse raised which the court had to consider as part of the proceedings. A restraining order was obtained for the client which prevented the father from knowing the mother’s whereabouts and from being able to spend any time with the children.
Representing a father in proceedings which had been brought to relocate a child from Cornwall to another part of the country. The Mother had moved with her other children and believed that the court would agree to her child moving with her. It did not and the child remained in Cornwall at their school.
Representing parties where parental alienation has been alleged by one parent which resulted in them being denied any contact with their children. Following investigation and intervention from the courts, contact was reinstated.
Advising on a case where the Father did not have parental responsibility for the child and was not named on the birth certificate and applying to the court and obtaining a declaration of parentage and for the birth certificate to be amended to provide him with parental responsibility.
Assisting with an application which was made by a father who obtained parental responsibility when he was named on the birth certificate. It transpired during the proceedings that he was not the natural father and should not have been named on the birth certificate. Despite this, the court allowed him to retain his parental responsibility and to share the care of the child.
Assisting with applications from grandparents to be able to spend time with their grandchildren.
Obtaining an Order that grandchildren were to live with their grandparents for the rest of their childhood.
Assisting a client with legalities around parental responsibility when a child was conceived using a donor embryo.
