Experience
Having worked in Family Law for more than 30 years Karen has a wealth of knowledge and experience dealing with all aspects of matrimonial law following the breakdown of both marriages and civil partnerships.
She also regularly provides advice to help protect assets prior to marriage or cohabitation and prepares pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements.
Karen has a special interest in financial matters following divorce or civil partnership dissolution in particular dealing with high value cases and those involving pensions, businesses or agricultural issues.
Dealing with the resolution of financial matters following divorce involving significant assets including a family business with a complex structure. Working closely with various experts dealing with commercial property and company valuations as well as complex tax issues.
Acting for a vulnerable client who was unable to return home, successfully dealing divorce and financial matters to ensure needs were met going forward, liaising with social services, carers and medical staff to ensure maximum quality of life and support in place for the future.
Acting for a party in contested financial proceedings involving a mixture of farming assets, residential property and a public service pension. An unusual mixture requiring the input of various experts to value the assets, deal with tax implications and to advise on how to release capital to effect a resolution with disposing of income producing assets.
