Legal expert only lawyer in South West to be shortlisted for top UK award

A legal expert at leading firm Coodes Solicitors is the only lawyer in the South West to be shortlisted in her category at the Personal Injury Awards 2022, it has been announced.

Partner Rachel Pearce (pictured) has been selected for ‘Clinical Negligence Lawyer of the Year’ and is up against six other professionals at the prestigious event which will be held next month in Manchester.

Head of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence at Coodes, Rachel has over 16 years’ specialist experience in dealing with particularly complex and challenges cases, including birth injuries, surgical errors, misdiagnosis, substandard midwifery and nursing care and fatal claims.

She joined Coodes in 2016 as an Associate and became head of the department in 2018. Earlier this year she was invited to become a business owner of the South West firm in recognition of her commitment to driving the future direction of the team and business.

Rachel, who is based at the firm’s Falmouth office, leads a very experienced and highly regarded team of clinical negligence specialists who represent clients across Cornwall and Devon.

Rachel has a track record of securing results for clients and is accredited under the Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme. She is a Senior Litigator and Accredited Clinical Negligence specialist with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and a member of the charity INQUEST, providing legal representation to bereaved families.

She is consistently independently ranked by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners publications.
