We support businesses with commercially focused legal solutions that drive growth and protect and preserve your assets and reputations.
Whatever your business, we can help you prosper.
We provide legal support to address the major challenges in life and protect your family and finances.
From relationship breakdowns or personal injuries to property or criminal defence, we can help you achieve the best outcome for you and your family.
We can advise on all aspects of party wall disputes. These are increasingly common as property owners seek to develop and extend their properties to achieve maximum value and amenity, sometimes with due regard for the impact of their activities on the people whose homes or property adjoins theirs. We understand that developments that impact your home can be upsetting and potentially costly and will take the time to talk you through your position, explain your options and help you to make an informed decision about the approach to take. We have wide-ranging experience in helping clients achieve satisfactory outcomes from party wall disputes
The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 provides a framework for preventing and resolving disputes in relation to party walls, boundary walls and excavations near neighbouring buildings. It applies in a wide range of scenarios as between neighbouring owners.
If a party wall dispute arises or you are concerned that matters might become contentious or you are seeking advice as to your rights and responsibilities, our party wall experts can help. We usually approach these matters in conjunction with a surveyor, though we also work with other professionals including structural engineers.
We can also take legal action on your behalf to address matters such as where a neighbouring owner may have failed to comply with the Party Wall Act requirements adequately or at all.
If you have a party wall dispute, or simply want some advice to avoid a dispute in the future, please get in touch.
