Coming from an educational background, Louise Brown moved into law with a particular interest in mental capacity matters and representing vulnerable people. Her work in schools and colleges helped her to develop strong people skills and a sense of empathy, which helps her understand the best way to represent clients.

Louise’s expertise is in administration of Lasting Powers of Attorney for clients with mental capacity, as well as administration of Deputyships for property and finances, acting for both professional and lay Deputies.

    Managing the smooth transition of an elderly client from their home to a care home and ensuring their best interests are the first consideration. Considering the client’s wishes and feelings and working with third parties involved in the client’s care. Representing the client on the sale of their property and liaising with all parties concerned including family members when appropriate.

    Managing the affairs of a client with fluctuating mental capacity, keeping close contact with the client, their care team and family members. Respecting the client’s thoughts and wishes whilst maintaining a professional relationship with all parties.

  • Mental Capacity

    Managing the affairs of clients without the mental capacity to make financial decisions. Always keeping the client’s best interests at heart and liaising with all third parties including the Court of Protection.
