Coodes rated for expert client service by prestigious legal guide

Coodes Solicitors has been rated for its high quality service to clients by a prestigious national legal directory. The new 2019 edition of Chambers & Partners, an independent guide to the UK’s best law firms, highlights the firm’s expertise in agriculture and rural affairs and clinical negligence.

The guide ranks two Partners, clinical negligence specialist Tim Goldburn and Rural Services team leader Pam Johns, as leading individuals.

The guide describes Coodes as “notable for advising South Western farmers and other landowners over several generations.” It explains that Coodes advises on “a wide range of agricultural matters, including property transactions, tenancies and farming partnerships”. A Coodes client is quoted as saying “they’re very approachable and they talk the local farmers’ language. They’re good at communicating with their clients.”

Working from Coodes’ network of offices across Cornwall and Devon, the Rural Services team advises farmers and landowners on a wide range of issues, including farming partnerships, succession planning, agricultural property and renewable energy.

The guide commends Holsworthy-based Partner Pam Johns, a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association, for her expertise, stating that she “understands agriculture in detail and is very experienced.”

Partner Tim Goldburn is recommended for his experience of clinical negligence cases. The guide explains that he “handles a broad range of cases including obstetrics, delay in diagnosis and fatality cases.”

With more than 30 years’ experience of guiding people through medical negligence claims, Tim joined Coodes in 2015 following a merger with local firm Preston Goldburn. He is based in the firm’s Falmouth office as part of the firm’s growing Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team.

One of the most respected legal directories, Chambers & Partners is based on rigorous independent research and feedback from clients and other legal professionals. In July, Chambers High Net Worth Guide ranked Coodes Partner Richard Pollock as an expert in advising high net worth individuals on estate planning, trusts and probate.
