Leading private wealth lawyer at Coodes recognised in global legal directory

One of the South West’s leading private wealth lawyers working for Coodes Solicitors in Cornwall has been selected to rank in the worldwide legal publication Chambers High Net Worth Guide.

Richard Pollock, partner and Court of Protection team leader at the region’s longest established law firm, is one of only three individuals in the county to be identified as a leading professional adviser to the private wealth market in the Duchy.

It is the fifth year in a row that Richard, who is based at Coodes’ Launceston office, has been recognised and is described as ‘an experienced practitioner with a broad practice, advising on estate and succession planning, estate and trust administration, and charity law. He often works with families and agricultural estates on complex matters.’

Richard, who qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and joined Coodes in 2005, has been recommended as a ‘notable Band 1 Practitioner’. He also specialises in wills and probate, Court of Protection, tax planning and charity law. He’s been described as “exceptionally intelligent and technically extremely able” as well as a “highly regarded private client specialist in Cornwall.”

The prestigious guide is published every year and is based on independent Chambers Research conducted by 200 analysts, across 200 jurisdictions and provides nearly 6,000 rankings tables. Annually, hundreds of thousands of responses from clients are collected, with the majority via in-depth interviews.

Chambers High Net Worth Guide also features top private banks, wealth managers, trust companies, accountancy firms and other professional advisers.

Richard Pollock said, “I am delighted to have been included as a notable practitioner in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide once again. It is hugely rewarding and this global publication is important because it gives our clients the reassurance that they will receive the very best legal expertise, experience and knowledge when they use Coodes to act on their behalf. Being ranked among the world’s best lawyers and law firms is something that the whole private client team at Coodes can be proud of – it’s as much of an achievement for the firm, as it is for me.”

Coodes’ Wills, Probate and Trusts team provides expert advice to a diverse range of clients across Cornwall, Devon and beyond from the firm’s network of offices in the region.

Richard supports many of the firm’s high net worth clients and leads Coodes’ Court of Protection team, as well as acting as a Deputy for clients. He is a Full Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association and a Member of the Court of Protection panel of Deputies.

Coodes Chairman and Partner Peter Lamble, said: “To be recognised in such a prestigious guide that is available around the world is a real honour for Coodes. Richard greatly deserves this accolade and it clearly demonstrates the outstanding legal expertise and high quality client services that we offer. Our Wills, Trusts and Probate Team is the best in the region and this fantastic achievement reflects the first-class service we provide to our clients.”
