Coodes Solicitors Family lawyer Shelley Workman has been awarded the Law Society’s Family Law Advanced Accreditation. The prestigious accreditation reflects Shelley’s expertise in domestic abuse cases and legal matters relating to children.
The Family Law Advanced Accreditation is a recognised quality standard for family law practitioners. To achieve the accreditation, legal professionals need to evidence expertise in their specialist areas of family law, as well as demonstrating significant experience as a family lawyer.
Shelley has worked in family law for more than 20 years and joined Coodes Solicitors in 2010. A member of the national family law organisation Resolution, she is experienced in representing victims of domestic abuse and advising separated parents on disputes on arrangements for children.
Shelley is based the firm’s St Austell office, in the town in which she grew up. She works with her colleagues in the Family team across the firm’s network of offices, as well as with charities and agencies, to help people escape domestic abuse.
Shelley said: “It’s fantastic to have this accreditation, which provides me with recognition of my experience and specialist expertise in two crucial areas of family law. The Family Law Advanced Accreditation is very well respected and will give my clients that reassurance that they are getting the best, expert advice.
“Advising on domestic abuse cases and on matters relating to children is complex and challenging work. However, it also gives me an enormous sense of job satisfaction as I know I am making a real difference and helping people get the support they need to stay safe.”
Elise Alma, Partner and Head of Family at Coodes Solicitors, said: “Congratulations to Shelley on achieving this accreditation, which reflects her knowledge and ability as a Family lawyer. I am very pleased that our clients continue to benefit from her expertise.”
