Jack Peart joined Coodes in September 2022 after training and working for another firm in East Anglia.

Jack deals with a varied caseload and client base from a wide array of different sectors and locations but has particular expertise and interest in agricultural work and mergers and acquisitions.

Expertise

Jack works closely alongside his colleagues in the Corporate and Commercial department, as well as the wider Business Services team within Coodes and acts as a main point of contact for clients.

With a keen interest in mergers and acquisitions, Jack has acted for both buyers and sellers on these types of transactions, whether it be a share or asset transaction and appreciates the commercial elements and negotiation points that both buyers and sellers need assistance and advice on, with no two transactions being the same.

Jack currently works closely with Coodes Private Client department with regards to ensuring that partnership affairs and agreements, for farming clients in particular, are structured in a way that ensures the day to day activities of the partnership can continue, whilst ensuring that subsequent generations and testamentary wishes can be catered for.

Notable Corporate and Commercial cases

  • Company Share Sale

This involved assisting, drafting and negotiating the share purchase agreement and ancillary documents, as well as dealing with the due diligence request undertaken by the buyer over the company being sold.

Acting for a multi-generational family with regards to their farming operation, including drafting a partnership agreement with consideration around future development opportunities and transferring the business to the next generation.

Although certain elements had been undertaken by the accountancy firm already with regards to due diligence and the deal structure, we were required to facilitate the paperwork necessary to complete the transaction.
