Maria is a highly experienced and capable Conveyancer with nearly twenty years experience managing her own caseload.
Approximately 80% of her caseload is residential sales and purchases, with the remainder of her time spent on more complex transactions.
Maria heads up our Later Life Team.
Equity Release to enable home improvements to be made. Work included providing advice on the lifetime mortgage conditions in line with the Equity Release Council’s requirements and ensuring the clients were satisfied with the same before completion.
Deferred Payment Agreement and Charge for care home fees. Advising the attorney on the contributions to be made by the local authority, how and when payments will be made, whether the accommodation can be changed and the costs, interest and responsibilities involved including repayment of the loan.
Purchase of a right to buy from a Housing Association with financial assistance from a son. Advising upon the discount conditions the period where repayment or sale back to the Association applies. Drafting a Declaration of Trust for the joint ownership in different shares by mum and son based on the full open market value of the property with the discount proportion being allocated to mum.

Maria is Head of Equity Release for the firm, and is a member of The Equity Release Council and also manages LFS and the Perfect Portal.
In her role as Senior Examiner for the National Association of Licensed Paralegals, Maria writes and moderates examinations and assignments. This gives her the right experience to be the Team’s Training Manager.
